Dr. Arvind Mukundan is an internationally acclaimed multidisciplinary researcher, Dean of Research and Development at Sanjivani Group of Institutes, Honorary Research Fellow at Shinawatra University, and Visiting Professor at SR University. He has been recognized among the World's Top 2% Scientists (2024–2026) by Stanford University and among the Top 1000 Scholars (2026) by Scholarly Index (World Rank #465, Taiwan Rank #3 in Spectroscopy Techniques), for his outstanding scholarly contributions in the fields of hyperspectral imaging, biomedical optics, artificial intelligence, and aerospace engineering. His pioneering work focuses on developing advanced imaging algorithms and integrating optical sensing with deep learning to revolutionize non-invasive disease diagnosis, environmental surveillance, and counterfeit detection systems. With over 2,200 citations and an h-index of 26, Dr. Mukundan has published 93 journal articles, 19 conference papers, holds 4 patents, and has authored 1 edited book.
Developed portable and low-cost hyperspectral imaging module for detecting and classifying counterfeit currency and holograms. Created comprehensive system integrating snapshot-based HSI with Python-based Windows application for real-time authentication.
Developed large-scale, low-cost solution for detecting air and water pollution using hyperspectral imaging combined with deep learning. System estimates PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations from aerial images using visible and near-infrared HSI technology.
Designed lab-on-chip MoS2/Cu2O PN heterojunction biosensor for rapid cancer cell detection. Studied growth mechanisms and optical characteristics using Transmission Electron Microscopy, enabling detection through impedance and photoelectrochemical response.
Developed Spectrum Aided Vision Enhancer (SAVE) and Computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD) system for early cancer detection. Integrated band-selective HSI with deep learning models (CNN, YOLO, SSD, ResNet) for identifying esophageal, skin, and bladder cancers.
